Molybdenum Carbide Powder
Ultrafine molybdenum carbide powder is prepared through a special process method. It is a close-packed hexagonal lattice, also face-centered cubic lattice. the molybdenum carbide does not react with anaerobic acid , soluble in nitric acid and aqua regia obtaining carbon. Density: 9.18g/cm3; Melting point: 2690±500oC. It has a higher melting point and high hardness, good thermal stability and mechanical stability, excellent corrosion resistance. Applications: ultrafine molybdenum carbide powder can be used as a coating material, can also be used as the added material, widely used in various high temperature, abrasion and chemical resistant etc.um Carbide Mo2C Powder

What Is Molybdenum Carbide (MoC)?

What Is Molybdenum Carbide (MoC)?

Molybdenum Carbide (MoC) is generally immediately available in most volumes. Ultra high purity, high purity, submicron and nanopowderforms may be considered. Chinatungsten produces to many standard grades when applicable, including Mil Spec (military grade); ACS, Reagent and Technical Grade; Food, Agricultural and Pharmaceutical Grade; Optical Grade, USP and EP/BP (European Pharmacopoeia/British Pharmacopoeia) and follows applicable ASTM testing standards. Typical and custom packaging is available. Additional technical, researchand safety (MSDS) information is available as is a Reference Calculator for converting relevant units of measurement.
 Molybdenum Carbide Balls
Carbides are compounds in which the anion is one or more carbon atoms. Most metals form carbide compounds, though not all. Indium and Gallium, for example, do not. Like diamond, a pure carbon compound, carbide compounds tend to be extremely hard, refractory and resistant to wear, corrosion and heat, making them excellent candidates for coatings for drills and other tools. They often have other valuable properties in combination with toughness, such as electrical conductivity, low thermal expansion and abrasiveness.

Molybdenum Carbide Sputtering Target

Chinatungsten specializes in producing high purity Molybdenum Carbide Sputtering Targets with the highest possible density and smallest possible average grain sizes for use in semiconductor, chemical vapor deposition (CVD) and physical vapor deposition (PVD) display and optical applications.

Our standard Sputtering Targets for thin film are available monoblock or bonded with dimensions and configurations up to 820 mm with hole drill locations and threading, beveling, grooves and backing designed to work with both older sputtering devices as well as the latest process equipment, such as large area coating for solar energy or fuel cells and flip-chip applications.

Molybdenum Sputtering Target With ≥99.95% Purity
Research sized targets are also produced as well as custom sizes and alloys. All targets areanalyzed using best demonstrated techniques including X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF), Glow Discharge Mass Spectrometry (GDMS), and Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP). "Sputtering" allows for thin film deposition of an ultra high purity sputtering metallic or oxide material onto another solid substrate by the controlled removal and conversion of the target material into a directed gaseous/plasma phase through ionic bombardment. We can also provide targets outside this range in addition to just about any size rectangular, annular, or oval target. Materials are produced using crystallization, solid state and other ultra high purification processes such as sublimation.

Chinatungsten specializes in producing custom compositions for commercial and research applications and for new proprietary technologies.  We also casts any of the rare earth metals and most other advanced materials into rod, bar or plate form, as well as other machined shapes and through other processes such as nanoparticles (See also application discussion at Nanotechnology Information and at Quantum Dots) and in the form of solutions and organometallics. We also produce Molybdenum as disc, granules, ingot, pellets, pieces, powder, and rod. Other shapes are available by request.

Molybdenum Carbide-Mo2C

Molybdenum carbide (Mo2C) can occur in many crystalline forms, the most common of which is α-Mo2C and β-Mo2C.
Mo2C Powder
It is the latter phase which is stable at low temperatures and occurs in steels. β-Mo2C has a close-packed hexagonal crystal structure with the carbon atoms located in one half of the available octahedral interstices. The lattice parameters assumed for the diagrams below are a=0.3007 nm and c=0.4729 nm.

Mo2C
Projection of four unit cells. The numbers indicate the fractional coordinates along the z-axis. The black atoms are carbon and the blue molybdenum.
Mo2C_x
Two molybdenum and one carbon atom per unit cell.
Mo2C_yocta_z
As the projection along the z-axis, but with most of the atoms removed to show carbon in an octahedral interstice.
